Job Description

Role Summary

As a Sr. BCBA at CCBS, you design and implement individualized behavior analytic programs for children and adolescents receiving ABA services. You hold a meaningful caseload of clients, collaborate closely with Program Managers and families, maintain clinical documentation to the highest standard, and contribute to a team culture where quality outcomes are a shared goal.

This is a clinician-led role in a clinician-led organization. You will have direct input into treatment decisions, access to ongoing supervision and mentorship, and a clear performance-based path to increased compensation and leadership.

About CCBS

Child Communication & Behavior Specialists (CCBS) is a clinician-owned ABA therapy organization headquartered in Northern California. We provide Applied Behavior Analysis services to children and adolescents, working primarily within the CCS/Catalight Care Services framework. Our clinical team is built on a foundation of clinical integrity, collaborative supervision, and a commitment to measurable outcomes for every client we serve.

CCBS is a place where strong clinicians grow. We offer a structured six-level salary ladder, a meaningful quality bonus program, leadership pathways into our Assistant Mentor track, and a culture that values both clinical excellence and operational transparency.

What You’LL Do

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs grounded in applied behavior analysis.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs), preference assessments, and skills assessments as clinically indicated.
  • Review and analyze session data regularly, adjusting programming as needed to ensure client progress toward measurable goals.
  • Maintain a caseload consistent with your salary level billing expectations (see Compensation section).
  • Deliver direct therapy services as part of your billable hours when appropriate.

Supervision & Collaboration

  • Supervise Program Managers (PMs) and master’s-level students on your caseload, providing regular feedback, training, and clinical oversight.
  • Note: BCBAs with less than 1 year of BCBA certification may supervise PMs and students under the mentorship of a BCBA with 5+ years of certification.
  • BCBAs with 5+ years of certification may mentor new BCBAs (less than 1 year certified) in addition to supervising PMs and students.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, school teams, and other service providers to align programming across environments.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete progress reports, session notes, and clinical documentation accurately and on time in accordance with CCS/Catalight requirements and CCBS policy.
  • Maintain billing records through CentralReach; ensure hours billed and collected accurately reflect services rendered.
  • Uphold BACB ethical guidelines and CCBS clinical standards at all times.
  • Participate in audit readiness; ensure documentation can withstand internal or external review at any time.

What We’RE Looking For

Required

  • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential in good standing with the BACB.
  • Experience providing ABA services to children and adolescents (any amount considered for Entry level).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clear, clinician-quality reports and communicate effectively with families.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn CentralReach for session data and billing.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, data-driven decision making, and ongoing professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience working within the CCS/Catalight Care Services framework.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred for many of our service regions.
  • 5+ years of BCBA certification for Senior, Lead, or Principal level consideration.
  • Interest in the Assistant Mentor leadership track (open to all BCBAs post-90-day probation with active BCBA credential).

Key Responsibilities
