This Full-Time position has an emphasis on inpatient neurology (24/7, 7 days on/7 days off work schedule) with an estimated 15-20 patients/day. This is a consult-only service, including consults in the intensive care unit, general medical floor, and the emergency room.
The job requires management of all acute (nonsurgical) neurological problems, including acute stroke. We are partnered with the University of Minnesota. You will be expected to lead a large teaching service comprised of residents, interns, medical students, and a stroke APP.

Opportunities for research and involvement in clinical trials available to motivated applicants. All neurologists in our department have the opportunity to seek professorship appointment at the University of Minnesota.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating acute neurological issues, have an academic mindset, and dedicated to the treatment of the underserved. Although this position is focused on inpatient neurology, the balance of inpatient vs outpatient is negotiable.
Hours are M-F (8 am-6 pm) in the hospital and on-call (pager) after hours and weekends 8 am to the end of rounds, and pager call thereafter. One week call is considered 7 am Monday to 7 am the following Monday.
