Physician - Hospitalist (Full-time)

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Hospitalist Physician to join the Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine. A 1.0 FTE hospitalist works 24 weeks of clinical service annually, generally scheduled in a seven-days-on, seven-days-off model. The schedule also includes occasional swing and overnight shift coverage.

• Position Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adults with a broad range of medical conditions
• Attend on resident teaching services, providing clinical supervision and bedside education

Provide care on hospitalist-led services in collaboration with advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams

• Coordinate care across specialties and care settings
• Partner with patients, families, and care teams to address medical and social barriers to health
• Promote safe discharge planning and effective transitions of care

Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, clinical operations, or medical education based on interest and organizational needs

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current unrestricted Minnesota medical license or eligibility for Minnesota licensure
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine
• If board eligible, certification must be obtained within four years of completing training

• Commitment to caring for historically underserved patients and those with medical and social complexity
• Interest or experience in resident education
• Experience in an academic or safety-net health system
• Success working with interdisciplinary care teams
• Interest in quality improvement, patient safety, health equity, or medical education
