Responsibilities

• Delivers accurately the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy
• Appropriately prepares the room and equipment for patient treatments and transfers patients safely

Consistently utilizes a holistic approach (considers physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment demonstrating the practices of infection control principles

CT Simulations are arranged per doctors’ orders and patients are immobilized for their radiation treatments appropriately

Administer tattoos for marking of setups

Performs tumor localization; makes changes/adjustments to ports as required by physicians via manual or electronic methods

Qualifications

• Education:
• Graduate from an ARRT Accredited school of Radiation Therapy

Experience

1 year of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) is required
• IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IL Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required
• IL Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care is required

Must obtain the following licensure upon hire

• Licensed as Radiation Therapist in the state(s) of practice
• Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
