Summary of Job Duties
This position is located in Northwest Arkansas. The Speech Therapist works as a member of an interdisciplinary team with occupational therapists and physical therapists to provide the evidence-based, best practice evaluations and therapy techniques.
This position will perform treatments and evaluations in our outpatient clinic, as well as in the Arkansas State Veteran's Home.
Treatment plans will be used to restore, maintain or prevent decline of resident function, by planning and administering medically prescribed therapy treatments in accordance with federal, state and professional standards governing the facility.
The duties of the Speech Therapist contribute in the effort to further the mission of UAMS: To improve the health and health care of Arkansans.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Masters’ Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Licensed as a speech language pathologist in the state of Arkansas or eligible to apply and obtain license within one month of hire and Certificate of Clinical Competence or eligible pending completion of Clinical Fellowship year.
- Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Clinical Experience with the Geriatric Population
Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Bending, standing, walking, eyesight, hearing, driving, speaking and repetitious movement, lifting, weight lifted 50 lbs. lift to: waist, 50 lbs. chest, 50 lbs. above head 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
FEES certified. LSVT-LOUD and Vital-stim certified
