Website: bellevuepostacute.com Address: 2424 156th Ave. NE, Bellevue, WA 98007 The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a Registered Nurse (RN) who provides clinical and administrative leadership for nursing services under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
This role supports the delivery of high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, quality assurance, and the effective day-to-day operation of the nursing department.
The ADON works closely with nursing leadership, clinical staff, physicians, rehabilitation professionals, residents, families, and other departments to promote positive resident outcomes and maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for each resident. Reporting: This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).

Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing nursing services and ensuring care is delivered according to professional nursing standards, facility policies, and applicable regulations Support the development, implementation, and ongoing review of nursing policies and procedures consistent with current standards of nursing practice Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to nursing staff across all shifts Review clinical reports and resident information to identify significant changes in condition, transfers, discharges, medication errors, injuries, complaints, and other concerns requiring follow-up Communicate and collaborate with residents, families, physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, department leaders, and members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate resident care and services Conduct rounds and monitor resident care, clinical documentation, staff performance, and compliance with facility standards Participate in Quality Assessment and Assurance activities and assist in identifying trends, developing corrective actions, and evaluating quality improvement initiatives Support infection prevention and control practices and assist with surveillance, education, monitoring, and corrective action as needed Assist the Director of Nursing with preparation for state and federal surveys and participate in the survey process, including timely collection of requested information and implementation of corrective actions Support nursing staff education and in-service programs to maintain clinical competency and compliance with facility and regulatory requirements Assist with the recruitment, interviewing, orientation, supervision, development, and retention of qualified nursing staff Participate in performance evaluations and appropriate personnel actions in accordance with facility policies Assist with developing staffing plans to ensure appropriate numbers of qualified nursing personnel are available to meet resident care and acuity needs Support the admission process by reviewing clinical needs, resident acuity, staffing considerations, and the facility’s ability to provide appropriate care Collaborate with rehabilitation, admissions, MDS, billing, and other departments regarding Medicare/PPS and other applicable reimbursement programs Participate in Medicare Triple Check and other clinical documentation reviews as appropriate to support accurate and timely billing Maintain working knowledge of the RAI/MDS assessment process, Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, hospice, and other applicable payer requirements Consult regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding resident status, staffing, census, clinical operations, regulatory matters, and other nursing department priorities Serve as a nursing administration resource and participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned Maintain resident confidentiality and ensure residents are treated with dignity, respect, fairness, and compassion Maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education and remain informed of changes in geriatric nursing practices and applicable regulations Perform Charge Nurse responsibilities when needed and appropriate. Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. RN license must be current and in good standing as required to practice in Washington State.
Qualifications and Skills Minimum of one year of experience in long-term geriatric nursing care. Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute setting preferred. Strong clinical knowledge and ability to direct and supervise nursing and resident care services.
Working knowledge of professional nursing standards and applicable federal, state, and local requirements governing long-term care. Knowledge of quality assurance, infection prevention, resident safety, and regulatory compliance practices. Working knowledge of the RAI/MDS assessment process.
Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, hospice, and other reimbursement and payer requirements applicable to skilled nursing care. Ability to effectively supervise, coach, educate, and support nursing staff.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple clinical and administrative priorities. Exceptional communication, leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, physicians, staff, consultants, government agencies, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to respond effectively to changing resident needs, staffing situations, and operational priorities.

Requirements
Ability to move throughout the facility and stand or walk for extended periods as required. Ability to bend, reach, squat, and perform other physical activities associated with nursing and resident care responsibilities. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to assist with resident safety and emergency procedures as necessary. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
This position works in a 24-hour skilled nursing environment and may involve exposure to infectious materials, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals, odors, and other conditions commonly associated with healthcare settings.
