Job Description
Radiation Therapist
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering prescribed radiation treatments, ensuring patient safety, and delivering exceptional care throughout the treatment process. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing a positive patient experience.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and in collaboration with the oncology team, the Radiation Therapist operates specialized radiation therapy equipment to deliver treatment for cancer and other medical conditions. The Radiation Therapist plays a key role in patient education, treatment accuracy, and quality assurance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Explain treatment procedures and provide patients with education regarding their treatment plan and potential side effects.
- Position patients precisely and determine treatment areas using simulation data and imaging guidance.
- Utilize medical imaging and treatment verification systems to ensure accurate delivery of radiation therapy.
- Monitor patients during treatment and promptly report any adverse reactions or concerns to the appropriate clinical team.
- Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, treatment documentation, and quality assurance data.
- Operate, inspect, and perform routine quality checks of radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety.
- Adhere to all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and radiation protection guidelines.
- Provide compassionate support to patients and their families throughout the course of treatment.
- Contribute to departmental goals and support additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (T)
- Active Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License required

Administer prescribed radiation treatments accurately and safely, position patients using simulation data and imaging guidance, and monitor patients throughout treatment. Maintain treatment records and equipment quality checks, follow radiation safety requirements, and collaborate with the oncology team while supporting patients and families.
