The Part-Time Staff Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering exceptional patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Evaluate prescriptions for appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and therapeutic duplication.
- Provide patient counseling regarding proper medication use, side effects, adherence, and disease-state management.
- Answer medication-related questions from patients, providers, and healthcare staff.
- Perform prospective drug utilization reviews and clinical interventions as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support personnel.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient records.
- Assist in inventory management, medication ordering, and stock control.
- Monitor controlled substance inventory and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with prescribers to resolve prescription discrepancies and optimize patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety programs.
- Support immunization services, health screenings, and other clinical programs as permitted by state law.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and patient-centered pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of Oklahoma.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication therapy, and applicable regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Exceptional problem solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Preferred
- Previous retail, ambulatory care, clinic, or Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
- Immunization certification.
- Experience with Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Experience with third-party insurance processing and prior authorizations.
