Quest, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the clinical operations of our Intermediate Care Facility serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this leadership role oversees day-to-day nursing operations, supports and develops nursing staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes high-quality resident care.

The ADON serves as both a clinical resource and operational partner, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, healthcare providers, families, and community stakeholders to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals we support.

Responsibilities/You Will

Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care.

Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff while fostering a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.

Ensure compliance with AHCA, federal, state, and organizational regulations, policies, and standards.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, healthcare providers, and site leadership to support resident health outcomes and operational excellence.

Conduct quality assurance reviews, identify opportunities for improvement, and support ongoing quality initiatives.

Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and professional development of nursing staff.

Coordinate admissions, discharges, physician orders, medical appointments, and other healthcare services for residents.

Oversee medication administration practices, infection prevention protocols, and clinical documentation standards.

Build strong working relationships with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacies, laboratories, guardians, families, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Participate in the nursing leadership on-call rotation and provide support during clinical or operational situations as needed.

Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment where priorities may shift throughout the day.

Approach challenges with a calm, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Lead by example through a hands-on leadership style, stepping in to support the team whenever needed.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community partners to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Provide timely coaching, guidance, and feedback to support staff performance and development.
  • Champion a culture of teamwork, service, and person-centered care.

Maintain a commitment to excellence, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and resident well-being.

Basic Qualifications/You Have

  • Nursing degree from an accredited program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
  • Active, unrestricted Florida RN or LPN license.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
  • Experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, ICF, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of healthcare leadership or management experience.
  • Experience as a Nursing Supervisor, Unit Manager, Clinical Supervisor, ADON, or similar leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • ICF/IDD experience.
  • IV Certification for LPN candidates.
