Expectations

Supervises and coordinates the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients of the hospital. Pharmaceutical care is the evaluation, distribution, and monitoring of prescribed therapy which provide positive patient outcomes. Maintains current California Pharmacist license. This position may require flexibility of hours.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher degree required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy preferred.

Experience/Training

Two years of experience in a progressive hospital pharmacy practice is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Required

  • Current unrestricted Registered Pharmacist license (RPH) issued by California State Board of Pharmacy
  • Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

Skills

Requires mobility to be able to respond quickly to Code Rapid Response and Code Blue situations and to be able to transport the emergency pharmacy medication box.

Pay Range: The estimated base rate for this position is $77.03 - $117.47.

Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

  • Base rate paid for the first 8 hours of work in a day

‎

  • 1.5x overtime pay for hours 8–12 worked in a workday.

  • 2x double-time pay for any hours beyond 12 in a workday

‎

This ensures that employees are fairly compensated for the full length of their shift, with enhanced pay as their workday progresses. The estimated blended hourly rate, accounting for these premiums on a 12-hour shift, ranges from $89.87 to $137.05.

Supervises and coordinates the delivery of pharmaceutical care, including the evaluation, distribution, and monitoring of prescribed therapy. Responds to emergency situations such as Code Rapid Response and Code Blue to provide necessary medication.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or higher, with a Doctor of Pharmacy preferred, and a current unrestricted California Registered Pharmacist license. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a progressive hospital pharmacy practice and hold a current BLS certification.
