Part-Time School Social Worker 2026-2027 School Year | Tinley Park | Up to $60/hour

Come work with a local, women and therapist-founded company that truly understands the school-based experience. Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Part-Time School Social Worker in Tinley Park, IL.

Position Details

  • Start Date: ASAP until December 22nd, 2026
  • Schedule: Elementary School, Part-Time, 3 days per week, 7:40 am to 2:40 pm
  • Location: Tinley Park, IL
  • Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide IEP counseling services and social-emotional support
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings
  • Complete IEP documentation and progress reports
  • Collaborate with school-based special education teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Engage with families and community-based supports when appropriate
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a collaborative school culture
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement
  • Experience in schools or special education is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a major asset but not required
  • Passion for inclusive, student-centered support and school collaboration

Key Responsibilities

The social worker will provide IEP counseling services and social-emotional support to students while collaborating with special education teams. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and participating in IEP meetings and staff meetings.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement. Experience in school settings or special education is considered a plus.
