Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a prime mover in a rapidly growing, patient-focused business. We are seeking a Director of Nurse Triage to lead the extensive team of IntellaTriage nurses. Reporting to the CNO, the Director of Nurse Triage will play a critical role in helping to drive clinical excellence, while continuing to scale operations.

IntellaTriage’s mission is to act as an extension of each client by using a tailored approach to deliver compassionate, around-the-clock care through the clinical expertise of our virtual Registered Nurses.

Bottom line – we want to ensure our providers’ patients are able to receive the care they need any time, any place. IntellaTriage acts as a triple threat after-hours by ensuring all stakeholders benefit.

We provide our customers’ patients with the comforting and medically appropriate guidance they need during the most trying times. We help our customers’ nurses reduce their workload and improve overall job satisfaction by reducing burnout.

We improve our customers’ bottom-line by reducing overall cost to deliver after-hours care.

What You’ll Do

Drive Exceptional Quality, Outcomes & Clinical Performance

  • Drive exceptional quality of care across centralized triage function
  • Collaborate with centralized Quality department to establish call quality standards
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence
  • Partner with the Clinical Education and Training department to ensure every nurse is prepared

Culture and People Leadership

  • Build an engaged, mission-driven culture focused on clinical excellence and nurse growth
  • Lead, build and coach triage leadership teams
  • Foster environment of accountability, collaboration and innovation
  • Identify and develop future nursing leaders
  • Model servant-based leadership model to meet our nurse first environment

Process and Policy Development

  • Design, develop and continually improve standardized triage workflows
  • Develop evidence-based policies that drive clinical best practice
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the centralized triage function

Lead Clinical Strategy & Innovation

  • Collaborate with CNO to develop and execute the clinical vision for the centralized nurse triage function
  • Advance and standardize telephonic triage protocols and clinical pathways tailored to client protocols
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, scalability and clinical excellence.

Scale & Lead a Distributed Nursing Workforce

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, fully remote team of nurses and clinical leaders
  • Design management models supporting 24/7 triage operations
  • Strengthen engagement, retention, & leadership development across a remote workforce

Required Education

  • Active, unencumbered RN license (multi-state preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Experience managing remote nursing staff strongly preferred

Required Knowledge

  • Advanced understanding of nursing practice standards, scope of practice, and clinical decision-making
  • Deep knowledge of patient assessment and triage methodologies, particularly in non-visual (telephonic) environments
  • Expertise in home health, hospice, and post-acute care models
  • Understanding of risk stratification and clinical decision support tools used in call-based environments.
  • Best practices for documentation, call handling, and clinical judgment without physical assessment
  • Awareness of patient engagement strategies in remote, episodic interactions
  • Workforce engagement strategies for remote/distributed teams
  • Organizational design, span of control, and leadership development

Required Experience

  • Experience in hospice, palliative care or post-acute care
  • Experience leading remote clinical teams and/or telephonic triage operations
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or strong process improvement track record
  • Must have at least 5+ years of management experience.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

Full time salaried position, compensation BOE. All part-time and full-time employees accumulate PTO, based on the number of hours worked (per year). All part-time and full-time employees are eligible to participate in our 401(k) plan. Full-time employees may also participate in medical, dental, vision, and/or supplemental insurances.

The Director of Nurse Triage will lead a remote team of nurses to drive clinical excellence and operational scalability. They are responsible for developing triage workflows, establishing quality standards, and fostering a mission-driven culture.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active, unencumbered RN license and a Bachelor's degree in nursing, with a Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years of management experience and expertise in telephonic triage or post-acute care models are required.
