The Emergency Department APRN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the APRN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Provides care to patients in the emergency room according to policy and procedure and care standards.
- Maintains knowledge of medications, equipment, expected patient outcomes, and anticipated complications.
- Coordinates patient care with multidisciplinary team.
- Acts to protect and advance patient’s best interest.
- Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
Qualifications
- Current APRN Licensure with the State of Oklahoma required.
- Previous experience required.
- Minimum of one year experience in Emergency or ICU preferred.
- BLS Healthcare required within 30 days of hire. ACLS and PALS required within 120 days of hire.

The APRN provides direct nursing care in the emergency department by assessing, planning, and coordinating treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. They are responsible for maintaining knowledge of medications and equipment while ensuring patient safety and advocacy.
