Baptist Health is hiring a Phone Triage Registered Nurse at Baptist Pediatrics on San Jose in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day-shift opportunity Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse is phone triage. They will support 10 providers and this is a busy, fast-paced office. We are looking for someone who is highly organized and comfortable interacting with patients face to face.
Phone Triage Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities
- Triage telephone calls
- Interpret symptoms and communicating plan of care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans
- Manage prior authorizations for medications
- Coordinate workflow pertaining to clinical questions
- Additional responsibilities may be required based upon office needs
- Room/triage patients for providers
- Reviewing the clinical messages that come through the portal and responding to them
- Using strong communication and documentation skills
Education & Credential Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Key Responsibilities
Triage telephone calls and portal messages, assess symptoms, communicate care plans, and educate patients and families about treatment. Coordinate clinical workflows and medication prior authorizations, room and triage patients, and document communications while supporting providers in a busy pediatric office.
Requirements
An associate degree in nursing, an active Registered Nurse license, and Basic Life Support certification are required. Clinical experience is preferred; the role also calls for strong organization, communication, and documentation skills.
