Responsibilities

Assist DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating day-to-day functions of the nursing department, including therapy, in accordance with state & federal regulations.

Ensure regulatory compliance by participating in or conducting mock surveys, patient interviews & randomly assessing medical administration records.

Reviews 24-hour report from every unit daily to monitor & ensure timely, effective responses to significant changes in resident conditions, transfers, discharges, unexplained injuries, falls, behavioral episodes, medication errors, etc. Collaborates with physicians, consultants, community agencies & institutions to improve quality of services & to resolve identified problems.

Coordinates/oversees Restorative Program & restorative staff, as needed. Conducts compliance & nursing rounds on all units as needed several times a day, including the beginning & end of each shift, speaking with residents/family and/or staff as needed.

Qualifications

Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state or compact state. Must have 2 years’ experience as an RN, with 2 years management experience preferred. Knowledge of long-term care regulations preferred.

The Assistant Director of Nursing supervises daily nursing operations to ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. They collaborate with physicians and staff while monitoring resident conditions and managing the restorative program.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active, unencumbered RN license in the state or a compact state. A minimum of two years of RN experience is required, with management experience preferred.
