Job Details: Job Location: Lincoln - Bronx, NY, Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Salary Range: $267900.00 - $278200.00Salary/year, Job Shift: 1, Job Category: Physician, Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist - CPEP to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.

Opportunity Details: Evaluate patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and determine the appropriate course of treatment.

Stabilize patients in crisis, often involving conditions such as severe depression, psychosis, suicidal ideation, or substance intoxication. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and coordinate care.

Prescribe and manage medications, often with a focus on antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and anxiolytics. Perform psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and risk assessments.

Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families, including information about diagnoses, treatment options, and crisis prevention strategies. Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with medical record-keeping standards.

Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in emergency psychiatry. Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as needed. Provide supervision and education to medical students and residents.

Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry. Active New York State Medical License. Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $267,900* (board eligible); $278,200* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $438,690

(Board Eligible) and $450,020

(board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.

Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.

Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates. Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.

Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family. Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs. Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.

Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses. Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.

Key Responsibilities

The psychiatrist will evaluate and stabilize patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms in a crisis setting. They will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans and provide supervision to medical staff and students.

Requirements

Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry. An active New York State Medical License is required for this position.
