Job Description
Works with the Palliative Care Consult Service at TUH Main Campus.
Treats and evaluates patients; administers advanced nursing care in a particular clinical specialty area. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis, the prescription of medical therapeutics in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician.
Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment that is centered on the needs of the patients, caregivers and others demonstrating concern for the patient's privacy, comfort, and emotional state.
Treats patient with consideration to age, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program Required
Experience
- 2 years experience as a nurse practitioner Preferred
- 1 year experience in a clinical specialty practice Preferred
- 1 year outpatient/ambulatory experience Preferred
- General Experience in an EPIC environment Preferred
- Licenses
- PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner Required
- PA Registered Nurse License Required
- Prescriptive Authority Preferred
- Basic Life Support Required
- Multi State Compact RN License Required Or
Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and treat patients within the Palliative Care Consult Service at the TUH Main Campus. They will perform patient care activities, including diagnosis and the prescription of medical therapeutics in collaboration with a licensed physician.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Nursing and possess active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses. At least two years of experience as a nurse practitioner is preferred, along with Basic Life Support certification.
