Job Description

A day hospital is an outpatient psychiatric program patients attend during weekdays, returning to the comfort of home in the evenings and on weekends. It is a less intensive level of care than inpatient but provides more support than a traditional outpatient setting. Many people we serve find that day hospital treatment is a helpful step down from inpatient care before returning to daily life or that it is an effective intensity of treatment to help avoid an inpatient stay.

At a Sheppard Pratt day hospital, care consists of both individual and group treatment. The Day Hospitals are group-based programs. Patients attend multiple group therapeutic sessions throughout the day. Day Hospitals are located on the Towson and Baltimore Washington Campus for Sheppard Pratt.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing group therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  • Offering supportive counseling and monitoring progress towards treatment goals.
  • Collaborating with treatment team members to communicate patient progress and contribute to treatment planning and aftercare planning processes.
  • Participating in family meetings and collaborative care sessions as needed to support holistic patient care.

What you’ll get from us.

At Sheppard Pratt, you will work alongside a multi-disciplined team led by a bold vision to change lives. We offer:

  • A commitment to ongoing training and education, including free training, CEU’s and Supervision.
  • Comprehensive retirement, medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Generous paid-time-off and flexible scheduling.
  • Complimentary employee assistance program.
  • And more!

What we need from you.

  • Must possess one of the following Maryland licenses at time of hire:
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience. The pay range for this position is $60k - $105k for 40 hours a week/Full Time.

Sheppard Pratt’s mission-driven culture offers an environment where you can explore what motivates you both professionally and personally.
