Pharmacist - Inpatient - Full Time - Mishawaka, Indiana

We are seeking a Full-Time Inpatient Pharmacist to join our team of passionate patient caregivers!

Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Indiana in Mishawaka, Indiana (South Bend area) is a cutting-edge inpatient rehabilitation facility focused on helping patients reclaim their lives after serious injuries or illnesses.

We provide intensive rehab care for stroke survivors, individuals with brain or spinal cord injuries, multiple trauma, and other debilitating conditions.

Our hospital’s expert team – including board-certified rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists), therapists, and nurses – work together to deliver personalized therapy programs aimed at restoring mobility, communication, and daily living skills.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Current license as a Registered Pharmacist required
  • Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

  • Knowledge of and adherence to national pharmacist regulations and standards of practice.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking skills.
  • Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

Responsibilities

Consults with nursing and medical staff on medication orders, patient reactions, and errors or complaints. Conducts drug utilization reviews and prepares drug review criteria for medical staff approval. Monitors drug therapies as assigned by medical staff and suggests alternatives as appropriate.

Consults with physician and physician groups concerning financial risk management related to prescribing. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
