Job Description
Townsen Memorial Hospital - West is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse Informaticist to join our team!
Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Texas required.
Summary: The Registered Nurse Informaticist is responsible for serving as the vital link between clinical care and healthcare technology. This role oversees the development, implementation, optimization, and evaluation of clinical information systems to enhance patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
- Monitor user feedback and system performance to identify and recommend improvements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* In-depth knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e. g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and clinical documentation standards
* Strong understanding of clinical workflows and hospital operations across care settings
* Knowledge of healthcare regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements (e. g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission)
* Proficiency in interpreting clinical data and applying health information standards (HL7, FHIR, SNOMED, LOINC)
* Strong clinical reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with attention to detail
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, including teaching and coaching abilities
* Strong organization, multitasking, time management, and teamwork skills
* Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in dynamic healthcare environments
Education and Experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire
