Job Details

Cleveland Clinic’s Business Operations Center serves as a key hub for our Home Care and Hospice operations as well as many administrative and support teams. This collaborative workplace supports a wide range of caregivers, clinical professionals, and operational teams.

While many positions are based within the center, numerous home-visiting roles—including case managers, nurses, and therapists—travel throughout the Greater Cleveland and Akron/Canton areas to deliver exceptional care directly to patients in their homes.

As a Music Therapist, you will provide patients with comprehensive clinical therapy services designed to help them meet individual goals and enhance their well-being. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in both the lives of patients and their families by offering them a creative outlet for various mental and physical health ailments.

A caregiver in this position works 8:30am to 5:00pm in the field.

A Caregiver Who Excels in This Role Will

Design, implement and evaluate Music Therapy interventions to address the biopsychosocial needs of hospitalized patients and families as appropriate.

Serve as clinical and educational resource for the hospital units and professional community regarding music therapy practice.

Assist and participate in research as needed, working with teams to develop research topics and protocols, conducting research, gathering results and assisting in articles for submission.

  • Assist Music Therapy Department as needed to develop and evaluate music therapy programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate therapy observation experiences, write reports and collaborate on other projects as needed.
  • Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a program accredited by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
  • Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT) through the state licensing board required
  • Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists required

One year of experience providing music therapy services is required. Consideration will be made for time spent in practicum or internship providing music therapy services.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross within 90 days of hire

  • Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Three years of experience providing Music Therapy in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Master's Degree

Physical Requirements

Standing and walking at least 75% of the time; sitting less than 25% of the time; hand and finger dexterity and reaching with arms and hands at least 75% of the time, close vision and depth perception at least 75% of the time; hearing and talking more than 80% of the time; and pushing and pulling at least 75% of the time.
