The Clinical Supervisor and Therapist is a licensed provider responsible for delivering culturally responsive, confidential, and empathetic treatment to adult clients, with a primary focus on OCD, trauma, addictions, mood and anxiety disorders, and life transitions. In addition to maintaining an active clinical caseload, this role provides supervisory leadership for pre-licensed and unlicensed clinicians by tracking caseloads, monitoring treatment quality, and offering regular individual and group supervision.
The Clinical Supervisor participates in staff meetings and supervision-of-supervision with the Clinical Leadership Team, and models Ignite’s values of clinical excellence, humility, respect, inclusion, and team connection. Ignite Counseling Colorado specializes in OCD, trauma, and addictions. Supervisors are expected to demonstrate depth of experience in trauma treatment using evidence-based modalities (such as EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Brain spotting, trauma-focused CBT/CPT), and in ERP and other evidence-based modalities for OCD. Supervisors must be able to coach clinicians in applying these approaches and in maintaining trauma-informed, identity-affirming care—particularly for LGBTQIA+ clients and other marginalized communities.

• Maintain a balanced caseload of clients while fulfilling supervision duties.
• Perform intake assessments and determine client fit for services, including differential diagnosis and level-of-care considerations.
• Provide individual and, when appropriate, couples therapy for adults presenting with OCD, trauma-related disorders, substance use concerns, depression, anxiety, and life transitions, using a recovery- and systems-informed approach.
• Build and maintain strong therapeutic rapport with clients, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural, socioeconomic, and identity factors, including LGBTQIA+ identities.
• Provide OCD-focused treatment using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and other evidence-based strategies as primary interventions for OCD and related anxiety conditions.
• Provide trauma-focused treatment using evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Brain spotting, trauma-focused CBT (including CPT), or equivalent approaches, delivered in a phased, trauma-informed manner (stabilization, processing, integration).
• Demonstrate skill in recognizing and navigating dissociative patterns and other trauma-related states, using grounding and co-regulation strategies to help clients remain within a workable window of tolerance during trauma work.
• Offer clinically appropriate, affirming services to LGBTQIA+ clients, including attention to minority stress, identity-related trauma, and resilience.
• Utilize best-practice, evidence-based interventions for OCD, trauma, and addictions, and stay current with clinical research and counseling best practices.
• Maintain a paper-free practice using Ignite’s EHR system.
• Respond to calls and emails in a prompt, professional manner.
• Complete DAP notes for every session within 24 hours, and complete treatment plans, risk assessments, and other required documentation as indicated.
• Maintain ethics and confidentiality of client information and Ignite Counseling Colorado’s proprietary information.
• Accurately track work, billing, and collect payment in a timely manner.
• Follow Ignite’s Employment and Practice Policies.
• Work independently and implement effective time management strategies.
• Maintain personal self-care practices to support high-quality clinical work and reduce risk of burnout and vicarious trauma.
• Network within the therapist and referral community to maintain strong referral sources. Supervision and Consultation
• Provide individual and group clinical supervision to pre-licensed and unlicensed clinicians serving adults and general outpatient populations, with a strong emphasis on OCD, trauma, and addictions.
• Cultivate a culture of feedback, psychological safety, and trust with supervisees.
• Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality in all supervision relationships.
• Provide clear, strengths-based feedback, encouragement, and support to unlicensed staff to promote clinical growth and professional development.
• Offer formal case consultation as needed, including support around complex OCD, trauma, substance use, mood and anxiety, and life transition cases.
• Coach supervisees in using ERP as the standard of care for OCD, and in using structured trauma-focused modalities (EMDR, PE, TF-CBT/CPT, Brain spotting) as standard care for PTSD and trauma-related disorders, clarifying limitations of supportive-only talk therapy for these conditions.
• Support supervisees in recognizing hyperarousal, hypo arousal, and dissociation, and in pacing trauma work within the client’s window of tolerance.
• Take an active role in supporting supervisees to build and maintain their caseloads, including guidance on marketing, retention, and clinical fit.
• Hold clinicians accountable for completion of notes, collection of payment, timeliness, and overall performance of job duties.
• Assist supervisees with applying CBT, ERP, trauma-focused, addictions-informed, and systems-oriented treatment modalities to their cases.
• Model and reinforce identity-affirming, LGBTQIA+-competent care and inclusive practices within the clinical team.
• Attend and engage in supervision of supervision meetings with Clinical leadership. Onboarding, Training, and Leadership
• Understand the Employee Manual and all office policies and procedures to ensure new team members understand Ignite’s culture and expectations.
• Support onboarding for new clinicians and interns by assisting with training and guiding completion of onboarding tasks, including orientation to documentation, EHR workflows, and evidence-based care expectations (ERP, trauma-focused modalities, addictions-informed care).
• Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and help design or deliver trainings related to OCD, trauma, addictions, and clinical documentation.
• Model and promote adherence to ethical standards, clinical risk management practices, and practice-wide quality benchmarks.
• Work effectively as a member of a team, provide direction and leadership, delegate appropriately, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.

• Current and active State of Colorado license as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT, in good standing.
• Meets Colorado requirements for clinical supervisor status for their discipline (e. g., LCSW supervisor credentials, or equivalent supervisor eligibility for LPC/LMFT).
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Availability to provide client appointments throughout each week, in addition to supervision responsibilities.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a licensed mental health position.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience providing clinical supervision (formal or under supervision-of-supervision).
• Demonstrated experience and strong interest in working with adults and general outpatient populations presenting with OCD, PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, substance use concerns, mood and anxiety disorders, and significant life transitions.
• Strong skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
• Training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) or willingness to be trained at Ignite upon hire.
• Training and depth of experience in at least one evidence-based trauma treatment modality (such as EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, trauma-focused CBT/CPT, or Brain spotting), or willingness to obtain such training with a commitment to trauma-focused practice.
• Experience and/or training in substance use treatment, such as motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, harm-reduction, or abstinence-based models.
• High standards for quality of clinical work, diligent work ethic, professionalism, and excellent organizational skills.

• Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) or equivalent formal clinical supervision training, if not already completed.
• Additional certifications or significant experience related to OCD, trauma, and/or substance use treatment, such as IOCDF-affiliated training, EMDR certification, PE training, Brain spotting training, or addictions certification.
• Experience in higher levels of care (intensive outpatient, PHP, residential, or inpatient settings) for OCD, trauma, or addictions, and comfort collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supervising clinicians in ERP, trauma-focused modalities, and LGBTQIA+-affirming practice.
