SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Professionals at this level are experienced and able to work with a minimum of
supervision. Educational requirements are very specific. Decision making,
problem solving, and highly developed interpersonal skills are critical. This
position will work specifically, in a telehealth capacity.  The individual will
have the ability to sign up for weekday evenings/overnights and weekends
according to their availability. Frequency of coverage is extremely flexible.

Work Schedule: on call as needed
Compensation: Weekly stipend if $140 week and $125/assessment completed

MINIMUM  QUALIFICATIONS

* Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy
* Two years or more experience
* Nebraska licensed required - LMHC or LISW required 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Provides crisis intervention and assessment of clients for the Crisis Center.
Determines client needs and makes recommendations and referrals to
appropriate level of care. Assessments are provided via telehealth, while the
client is at the Crisis Center.
* Conducts a crisis focused assessment within 30 minutes of the initial request
and documentation to be completed within 24 hours of crisis call.
* Establishes an intervention plan, with client participation, which specifies
immediate treatment needs and follow-up.
* Provides referrals to clients, including a direct referral to the Crisis
Center’s case management program.
* Ability to handle complex cases.
* Ability to be on-call, Monday through Friday. Hours include availability from
5:00PM to 8:00AM on weekdays and entire day coverage on weekends.   On-call
requires answering of crisis phone during the night hours/weekends and
ability to respond to situations via telehealth during those hours within 30
minutes.
* Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
* Refers to other Heartland Family Service programs and other community
services, as necessary either concurrent with services or for aftercare.
* Maintains clinical record, meeting established standards of timeliness and
completeness.
* Is prompt and accurate in completing all required reports, statistics and
other requirements.
* Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele,
volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
* Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other
Agency staff.
* Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and
requirements.
* Develops personal and program related skills through participation in
internal and external training opportunities including printed material and
audio and/or visual media.
* Performs other program related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

The therapist provides crisis intervention and clinical assessments via telehealth for clients at the Crisis Center. They are responsible for establishing intervention plans, making appropriate referrals, and maintaining accurate clinical records.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy with at least two years of experience. A valid Nebraska license as an LMHC or LISW is required for this role.
