Job Description

The Role

Our School Based Health Centers (SBHC) Program is looking for a temporary licensed mental health practitioner with related experience to staff a school-based outpatient clinic in Stamford, Connecticut. This is a temporary 3-4 month position located in a middle school and is based on the approved public-school calendar.

SBHC mental health clinicians provide health education (both large and small group instruction) and individual, family, and group counseling to students, often working as part of interdisciplinary health care teams with nurse practitioners and health educators. The successful candidate will maintain continuity of care for an established caseload and ensure a seamless transition.

The work schedule for the SBHC clinician position is 30-35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-2:30pm.

Anticipated start date is early December.

Requirements

  • Completion of master’s or post-master’s degree from an accredited counseling program
  • Active licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPCA, LMFT) in Connecticut, or the ability to obtain CT licensure
  • Experience working with middle school students and their families preferred
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural experience strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and experience using evidence-based models with children and families
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to relationship building, resource development, and creating equitable access
  • Ability to engage in therapeutic practices in accordance with all HIPAA, state, federal, licensing, and accrediting bodies
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records

Compensation

$40-48/hour, depending on experience
