Social Worker  – Salary - £43,680 - £53,172pa – Adult Services (G7/G8) within the Community Learning Disability Team.

About the Role

As a Social Worker within Havering’s Adult Services, you will play a vital role in supporting adults and carers to live independently, safely, and with dignity.

You will manage a varied caseload, undertake high‑quality holistic assessments, and work collaboratively with health partners, community networks, and other agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload appropriate to your level of experience, including complex cases for experienced social workers.
• Complete strengths‑based, person‑centred assessments and reviews under relevant legislation.
• Carry out safeguarding enquiries, ensuring vulnerable adults are protected.
• Support timely and safe hospital discharges using agreed pathways.
• Develop personalised support plans using community and personal resources.
• Work with health partners to prevent hospital admissions and promote independence.
• Maintain high‑quality case recording and data standards.
• Contribute to continuous professional development and service improvement.
• Mentor or supervise students or non-qualified staff (for experienced Social Workers).

About You

• You will be proactive, compassionate, and committed to delivering excellent adult social care.
• Essential qualifications and experience:
• Recognised Social Work qualification and SWE registration.
• Experience completing assessments and reviews.
• Experience in community settings and safeguarding.
• Ability to complete Mental Capacity Act assessments.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary working.
