Job Description
Location: NextCare Urgent Care, 5825 Plank Rd #105, Fredericksburg, VA 22407
Status: Full Time
Schedule: 12‑hour shifts during the week with shorter 8 hour shifts on the weekends; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Mon - Fri and 8:00 AM - 4:00PM Sat - Sun. Every other weekend and occasional holidays required.
Compensation: Competitive hourly compensation (based on experience) + monthly productivity bonus Benefits: Full-benefits package available

Position Summary
We are seeking a Full‑Time clinician to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA.
This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast‑paced, well‑supported urgent care environment.

You'll be supported by experienced clinical teams, strong peer relationships, clear practice guidelines, and accessible medical leadership who provide real‑time guidance and mentorship. The work is engaging and varied, with a broad patient population and generally low‑acuity presentations that keep skills sharp without the pressure of inpatient follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
- Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
- Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management (as applicable)
- Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Code and bill services appropriately
- Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
- Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Virginia license for NP | PA
- Board certification or eligibility, as applicable
- PA: NCCPA certification
- NP: ANCC or AANP certification (FNP required)
- Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to treat patients of all ages
- Active BLS certification
- EHR proficiency
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast‑track experience
- Strong procedural skills (e. g., suturing, splinting, wound care)
- Experience with initial x‑ray interpretation prior to radiology over‑read
