Under the direction of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist will perform various treatments, therapies, invasive and non-invasive procedures. The Registered Respiratory Therapist will clinically supervise and monitor clinical activities of Respiratory Technicians as described within the licensure law.

Respiratory Therapists assist in transportation of incubated pediatric patients with the special emphasis in maintaining airways and providing adequate ventilation and oxygenation. Assess modalities of respiratory therapy, recommend changes - including improvements appropriate to the delivery of respiratory care.

This is a full-time, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm position, with weekend and holiday coverage, for our campus located at NYP/Morgan Stanley Children Hospital 3959 Broadway, New York, NY 10032.

  • Preferred Criteria
  • 1-2 years of hospital-based experience.
  • Pediatric experience.
  • Preferred candidates will have RRT and CRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Required Criteria

  • Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS).

Salary Range

$59.85-$69.29/Hourly

Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist performs various invasive and non-invasive respiratory treatments and procedures under physician direction. They also supervise respiratory technicians and assist in the transport of intubated pediatric patients while maintaining airways and ventilation.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy along with a current New York State Respiratory Therapist License. Additional requirements include BCLS certification and preferred experience in a hospital-based pediatric setting.
