We are looking to hire a Dental Hygienist who is excited about a fun and rewarding career in the Pediatric Dental field. This is a part-time position (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with competitive pay and great benefits!

Who We Are Looking For

  • Someone who has a Dental Hygiene degree from an accredited program and an active Nebraska dental hygiene license.
  • Strong clinical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Comfort working with children, including patients who may be anxious, have special needs, or require additional patience and support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain oral health recommendations in a way that is easy for children and parents to understand.
  • Comfort using dental practice management software, digital radiography, and other common dental technology.
  • Reliable attendance, flexibility, professionalism, and a willingness to support the needs of the practice.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and openness to feedback, coaching, and continued learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive dental hygiene services for pediatric patients in accordance with the dentist's treatment plan and applicable standards of care.
  • Perform comprehensive dental prophylaxis, including removal of plaque, calculus, and stain.
  • Apply fluoride, sealants, and other preventive treatments as directed.
  • Complete periodontal probing, charting, and other clinical assessments as appropriate.
  • Obtain and document digital radiographs, including bitewings, periapical images, panoramic images, and other required diagnostic images.
  • Provide chairside assistance and four-handed support to the dentist when needed, including helping stabilize and comfort pediatric patients.
  • Provide age-appropriate oral hygiene and nutrition education and confidently answer questions from patients and parents.
  • Discuss recommended continuing care, treatment needs, and preventive strategies with families in a clear, compassionate manner.
  • Prepare, disinfect, set up, and tear down operatories, dental chairs, brushing stations, and other clinical areas throughout the day.
  • Monitor upcoming appointments to identify future treatment, supply, or preparation needs and help ensure the schedule is appropriately prepared.
  • Identify supply needs and communicate ordering or stocking needs to the appropriate team member.
  • Keep treatment areas, equipment, and common clinical spaces clean, organized, safe, and well maintained.
  • Support the Clinic/Practice Coordinator during absences or as needed with appropriate administrative or operational tasks.
  • Assist with special projects and other non-clinical responsibilities when patient care needs allow.
  • Accept feedback and coaching with a growth mindset and actively contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with dentists, hygienists, assistants, coordinators, managers, patients, parents, and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Dental Hygienist, Dentist, Practice/Clinic Coordinator, or Practice Administrator.
