Overview
Registered Dietitians make a healthy difference by joining our Outpatient Nutrition team at Sentara Louise Obici Hospital. Part Time 16 hours per week - Flexible weekdays.
You will meet with individuals or groups in our outpatient clinic consulting on nutrition assessment for a wide variety of acute and chronic disease states. Examples include diabetes, bariatric surgery, sports medicine, malnutrition, GI patients.
Serves as a Sentara representative for health fairs, media outreach, and community presentations. Communicates and collaborates with providers and other members of the healthcare team for referrals and clinical diagnostic data.
Education
Bachelor's Level Degree (If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.)
Certification/Licensure
- BLS is required to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities
The dietitian will conduct nutrition assessments for patients with various acute and chronic conditions in an outpatient setting. They will also serve as a representative for the hospital at health fairs and community events.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a related field and obtain Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within six months. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
