The CRNA is responsible for managing anesthesia throughout the surgical process, including induction, maintenance, and emergence. They also perform pre-operative assessments, maintain airway and venous access, and provide clinical instruction to students.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and hold a valid CRNA certification. Additionally, they are required to possess a Registered Nurse license in Iowa along with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
