Starting at $25.95 an hour

Available Schedule (Subject to Change)

Full Time / Monday-Friday / 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: Royal Oaks Retirement Community

As a Residency Counselor, you will build relationships with prospective residents and families, conduct community tours, understand their needs, and help them discover why Royal Oaks is the right place to call home. Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Marketing and Community Relations Director, support Royal Oaks’ overall sales, marketing and community public relations programs which support the mission and values of Royal Oaks.

Brief Overview of Major Duties

Prospect for and meet with potential residents to inform and educate them about Lifecare and Royal Oaks. Through a consultative sales process, gain an understanding of the prospects’ desires and situation and provide thorough tours of the campus with the end goal to fill vacant living units, decrease vacancies, and add prospects to the Priority List.

Log all communications into Welcome Home.

Contact prospects post-tour on a regular basis (30/60/90 days) with the goal to get them to join the Priority List or move in.

Sell prospects on the advantages of joining the Priority List; work to exceed Department goals for adding Priority List members.

Maintain thorough knowledge of top Priority List Candidates. Work diligently to get correct Priority List Candidates into correct residences. Maintain regular, on-going contact with them to keep interest in Royal Oaks high.

Keep Welcome Home current and complete with all communications. Suggest reports that would help the department run more efficiently. Work with Marketing Manager to develop appropriate outreach campaigns.

Support Royal Oaks involvement in various networks, trade shows, conferences, etc. including coordinating business development and marketing activities via these relationships.

Assist Marketing Specialist when needed in move-in coordinator activities.

Required to operate/drive a golf cart for the purpose of transporting supplies around campus as needed. This may also include transporting employees, residents and/or guests when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Has outstanding communication skills; can dramatically and effectively communicate an overall vision of the enterprise to customers at all levels; importantly, can translate a vision of the organization’s future into practical, concrete specifics.
  • Has ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of communication strategy and marketing technology.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency-- Microsoft Word/Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Organized, able to multi-task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
  • Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
  • Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.

Education and Experience

Must have a minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in performing sales duties within a professional service environment; or a combination of education, training and experience that would ensure the effective execution of the duties of the job.

Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field.

Licenses and Certifications

Has current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within 20 days of hire.

Has a current, valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet the criteria set forth by Royal Oaks’ insurance carrier.

If applicable, has a Certificate of Completion for memory care services training or obtains within 30 days of hire and complies with annual certification requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Is able to carry/lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Can stand, walk, sit, reach, and bend.
  • Can work alone most of the time.
  • Is able to stand for long periods of time.
  • May need to operate a fire extinguisher.
  • Is able to assist in evacuation procedures.
