Overview

To provide, under the direct supervision of the Medical Director and Sleep Center Director, the highest quality of care within the scope of sleep medicine and respiratory care in regards to evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders for all ages of patients of The Children's Mercy Hospital (CMH).

Demonstrating expertise in clinical practice specific to polysomnographic technology and respiratory care for the patients.

Provides accurate documentation of services performed, provides instruction for students and assists with orientation of new employees. Completes other tasks as assigned. Able to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

If you are selected for this position, you will be asked to supply your immunization records as proof of vaccination. If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Polysomnographic Study procedures.
  • Self-management for professional growth.
  • Participates in departmental and organizational quality/performance assurance/improvement activities.
  • Works as a team with all employees.

Qualifications

Associates Degree or higher from an accredited CoARC program: and 1-2 years experience Clinical experience as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting.

  • Pediatric critical care experience preferred.
  • Certified Polysomnographic Technologist RPSGT

One of the Following Required Upon Hire

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist CRT
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT
  • Employees must obtain Certified Polysomnographic Technologist RPSGT or equivalent within 365 days
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - State of Missouri Required 60 Days
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner - State of Kansas Required 60 Days
  • Registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. Required 1 Year
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) Required 90 Days

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $29.66/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
