Nursing Team Leader - Internal Medicine Telemetry, 7 North

Join DCH Health System as a Nursing Team Leader – Internal Medicine Telemetry in Alabama. Our Medical Respiratory Unit is a 42-bed unit primarily specializing in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses have a 1:6 ratio and provide care to predominately respiratory patients requiring treatment for pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD or other various lung diseases.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinates unit activities and provides leadership for unit staffing and patient assignments and responds to and provides leadership during crisis and emergency situations.

• Responsible for supervision and evaluation of nursing care furnished to each patient in their assigned clinical department.

• At a minimum, evaluate the care for each LPN assigned patient upon admission and when appropriate, on an ongoing basis in accordance with accepted standards of nursing practice and hospital policy.

• Promotes efficient patient flow including timely discharges and admissions.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current Alabama or Multistate License required.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a registered nurse required.

Work Schedule

• Full-Time position.

• Call responsibilities required.

• Weekend coverage may be required.

• Day shift only - no nights.
