Job Description
Temple University Hospital is looking to add an Advanced Practice Provider (APP; Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for the Surgery division of our health system. The APP will have NO ON-CALL, an every 3rd weekend rotation, and a holiday rotation. We need for the candidate to have a strong Cardiac background such as Cardiac ICU, Cath Lab, Telemetry, etc. Candidate must be knowledgeable in hemodynamics.
The APP treats and evaluates patients; administers advanced nursing care in a particular clinical specialty area under the direction of the licensed physician. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis and the prescription of medical therapeutics or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing - Required
- Master's Degree Nursing - Required
- OR
- Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies - Required
Experience
- 1 year experience in a cardiac specialty - Preferred
- 2 years experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant - Preferred
- Licenses
- PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner - Required
- PA Registered Nurse License - Required
- Prescriptive Authority - Preferred
- Multi State Compact RN License - Required
or a Physician Assistant License - Required
Key Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will treat and evaluate patients, administering advanced nursing care in the surgery division. They will perform a variety of patient care activities, including diagnosis and prescription of medical therapeutics under the direction of a licensed physician.
Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing or a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies. A strong cardiac background and knowledge in hemodynamics are required, along with relevant licenses.
