Job Description

Temple’s Vascular Surgery department is searching for a Nurse Practitioner to join the team! This role falls under the Temple Faculty Practice division.

Setting: Outpatient

Hours: Fulltime: M-F, 8 hrs. a day/ 40 hrs. a week | No On Call or Weekends

Location: Temple Main with a possible rotation to Episcopal Campus

Duties

Treats and evaluates patients; administers advanced nursing care in a particular clinical specialty area. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis, the prescription of medical therapeutics in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician. Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment that is centered on the needs of the patients, caregivers and others demonstrating concern for the patient's privacy, comfort, and emotional state. Treats patient with consideration to age, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic background, and culture in a caring, ethical, and professional manner.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing Required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nursing program Required

Experience

  • 2 years experience as a nurse practitioner Preferred
  • 1 year experience in a clinical specialty practice Preferred
  • 1 year outpatient/ambulatory experience Preferred
  • General Experience in an EPIC environment Preferred

Licenses / Certs

  • PA Cert Reg Nurse Practitioner Required
  • PA Registered Nurse License or Multi State Compact RN License Required
  • Wound Care Certification Required
  • Prescriptive Authority Preferred
  • Basic Life Support Required

Key Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner will treat and evaluate patients while performing a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis and prescribing medical therapeutics. They will also contribute to a safe, therapeutic, and inclusive environment centered on patient needs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing and possess a valid PA Registered Nurse License and PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner certification. Additionally, a Wound Care Certification and Basic Life Support certification are required.
