Job Description

Outpatient Cardiology NP / PA — General Cardiology or Electrophysiology

Davenport, Iowa | Full-Time | Weekday Schedule | No Call, Weekends, or Holidays

Build your cardiovascular career with an established team and the flexibility to pursue your clinical interests.

Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its outpatient team in Davenport, Iowa. The role offers the opportunity to focus on General Cardiology or Electrophysiology (EP) while collaborating with more than 25 cardiologists and experienced advanced practice providers.

Experienced APPs and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Prior cardiology or EP experience is welcome but is not required.

A Schedule You Can Plan Around

This position is entirely clinic-based, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule. There is no hospital rounding, call responsibility, weekend coverage, or holiday coverage.

You’ll have the opportunity to deepen your cardiovascular knowledge while building a long-term career within an established practice serving the Quad Cities.

Two Clinical Paths

General Cardiology

Develop broad experience in outpatient cardiovascular care through new patient consultations, follow-up appointments, medication management, and ongoing care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. You’ll work closely with cardiologists to support treatment decisions, prevention, and long-term disease management.

Electrophysiology

Work with electrophysiologists caring for patients with arrhythmias and other heart rhythm disorders. This path offers an opportunity to build specialized knowledge in EP with support from experienced clinicians. Previous EP experience is not necessary; a strong interest in learning the specialty is welcome.

Your clinical focus will be determined by your background, interests, and the needs of the team.

Support as You Grow

For new graduate NPs and PAs, CVM offers an opportunity to begin your career alongside physicians and APPs who bring extensive cardiovascular experience. Collaboration, mentorship, and continued clinical learning will help you develop confidence in the specialty.

For experienced providers, the practice offers room to expand your skills, pursue a specialty focus, and continue your professional development.

  • Your Role on the Team
  • Depending on your General Cardiology or EP focus, you will:
  • Perform outpatient assessments, including initial evaluations and follow-up visits
  • Manage cardiovascular conditions and monitor patients’ responses to treatment
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies, including EKGs, laboratory testing, imaging, and stress tests
  • Create and adjust care plans in collaboration with cardiologists
  • Counsel patients on medications, cardiac conditions, lifestyle changes, and risk reduction
  • Coordinate care with physicians, fellow APPs, nursing staff, and other clinical team members
  • Build specialty knowledge relevant to your clinical responsibilities

  • An active Iowa NP or PA license, or the ability to obtain licensure before starting
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • A patient-centered approach to education and treatment
