As a Pharmacist at MercyOne, You Will

Ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy is implemented for all patients in their care and monitor care appropriately

Provide consultation to physicians, nursing staff, and patients to promote positive outcomes

Be responsible for the medication use process of preparing and dispensing medications and solving problems in the medication use process for patients and the organization

Be responsible for the day-to-day operations in their assigned areas and direct the efforts of other pharmacy associates as appropriate to meet patient needs

Schedule: 40 hours a week

Rotating shifts

General Requirements

  • State of Iowa Pharmacist License
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy; completion of 1 year's pharmacy internship
  • Clinical Pharmacist must have one or more of the following: BS Pharmacy degree, PharmD degree, ASHP accredited residency or significant clinical experience
  • PharmD degree Preferred
  • Experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring safe and effective medication therapy for patients while providing expert consultation to physicians and nursing staff. They also manage daily pharmacy operations and oversee the medication dispensing process to meet organizational and patient needs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a State of Iowa Pharmacist License and have graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy with at least one year of pharmacy internship. A BS Pharmacy or PharmD degree is required, with preference given to those with an ASHP accredited residency or significant clinical experience.
