Position Summary
Clinical Pharmacist II – Evening ICU
Join Orlando Health as a Clinical Pharmacist II – Evening ICU and play a critical role in providing advanced pharmaceutical care to critically ill patients. In this position, you will collaborate with intensivists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize medication therapy, improve patient outcomes, and support safe, evidence-based practice in the Intensive Care Unit during evening hours.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications and IV therapies for ICU patients.
- Provide pharmacotherapy, pharmacokinetic, renal dosing, and critical care consultations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary ICU rounds and patient care discussions.
- Monitor medication therapy outcomes and address clinical interventions.
- Evaluate and resolve medication-related alerts and safety concerns.
- Investigate and document adverse drug reactions and medication errors.
- Support medication stewardship and quality improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor pharmacists, residents, students, and pharmacy technicians.
- Assist with policy development, educational programs, research activities, and operational projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and Orlando Health standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
- Hospital pharmacy experience required; critical care experience preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Residency required.
- Current Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Schedule: Evening shift
- ICU-focused practice environment
- Rotating weekends and holidays as required by department needs
