Job Id: A-NP-70228 Profession: Nurse Practitioner Specialty: NP - Hospitalist Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Brattleboro, VT Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Dec 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 9a – 6p Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: 100% Adult Average Daily Volume: 8-10 per day Case Mix: Inpatient observation, step-down, intermediate care FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Community Works Specialty Backup Available: ED, Surgeons, Overnight Hospitalist MD team PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Respond to codes and rapid responses Management of step-down level patients (ventilator management preferred) Stabilization of critically ill patients and arrangement for transport Inpatient care for adult observation/inpatient population
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Board: Board Certified Licenses: Active VT license (or eligibility to apply), DEA, BLS, ACLS DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS, ACLS Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of hospitalist experience preferred Duties & Responsibilities Provide inpatient hospitalist care for adult observation/inpatient population Respond to codes and rapid responses Manage step-down level patients and ventilator management (preferred) Stabilize critically ill patients and arrange for transport to tertiary care Collaborate with ED team, surgeons, and case management to support patient care and discharge
Key Responsibilities
Provide inpatient hospitalist care for adult patients, including managing step-down and intermediate care levels. Respond to medical codes and rapid responses while collaborating with surgeons and the ED team to stabilize critically ill patients.
Requirements
Requires an active Vermont Nurse Practitioner license, DEA certification, and current BLS/ACLS credentials. A minimum of 2-3 years of hospitalist experience is preferred.
