The Nurse Practitioner coordinates patient-focused care by performing physical examinations and comprehensive assessments for pre-surgical patients. They also initiate clinical pathways, order tests and medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with current New York State licensure as an RN and NP. A Master's degree and BLS certification are required, with a Bachelor's degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification preferred.
