Job Description

Pharmacy1st Health is building the clinical infrastructure for rural America by transforming independent pharmacies into integrated care delivery hubs. Our model combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating a new, lower-cost site of care for underserved communities.

We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead daily pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the highest standards of patient care.

The PIC will play a critical leadership role in managing clinical services, supervising staff, and maintaining the operational and financial performance of the pharmacy.

This role is ideal for a pharmacist who thrives in a high-growth healthcare startup environment and is excited to help transform and expand community pharmacy and clinical care services.

Duties

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Manage the day-to-day pharmacy operations, including inventory, and workflow.
  • Provide exceptional patient care through accurate dispensing, counselling, and medication management.
  • Mentor and manage team members (pharmacist, technicians, interns, etc)
  • Implement quality assurance, safety, and performance improvement programs.

Collaborate with physicians, family nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Support business growth through effective management of pharmacy services, including immunizations and clinical programs.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for audits, inspections, and internal reporting.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently, profitably, and in line with company goals.

Additional Leadership & Growth Expectations

Act with an owner-operator mindset within a fast-growing healthcare startup environment, taking initiative in operational excellence, patient experience, and business growth.

Support the expansion and implementation of new pharmacy and clinical service lines, including programs and healthcare offerings not previously provided under prior ownership.

Serve as a key local leader driving innovation, workflow optimisation, community engagement, and adoption of enhanced patient care services.

Maintain prompt, professional, and effective communication with company leadership on a daily basis through email, text, and phone communication as operational needs require.

Collaborate closely with executive and operational leadership teams to support rapid growth initiatives, compliance readiness, staffing coordination, and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of community or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmacy regulations and insurance billing.
  • Commitment to excellence in patient care and team development.
