This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, documenting, and evaluating all educational programs, including on-the-job training for the Nursing Department. Plays a key role in the assimilation of all new employees in the facility and assures competencies are completed timely and thoroughly and that any necessary follow up is completed.
As a Staff Educator, You Will
- Be expected to maintain a current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure in Massachusetts
- Schedule, develop, and coordinator with other department directors to complete mandated in-service trainings for facility employees
- Assure mandatory in-servicing is completed timely and documented in accordance with State and Federal Regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate orientation of all new employees to meet State and Federal requirements and expectations of IHC education department.
- Use protective/safety equipment and interventions in accordance with facility policy and OSHA standards. Teaches good practices to facility staff and promotes a culture of safety.
- Act as a resource person for all facility staff in regard to personnel educational needs (i. e., infection control, abuse prevention, sensitivity, etc.).
- Coordinates competency testing yearly for nursing staff with input/assistance from nursing management as needed focusing on return demonstration to determine competency as often as possible.
- Displays the ability to provide coaching to assure ongoing competency and professional development.
- Implement, coordinate and support employees in the career ladder educational paths in coordination with the facility management team and the IHC Education Department.
- Attends educational in-services to maintain licensure and broaden your knowledge base.
- Encourages/influences staff to take advantage of educational programs.
Educates staff regarding what CEU programs are available to them. Maintains current CPR certification.
- Understand and uphold the Residents' Bill of Rights and holds all resident information confidential. Understands employee rights in accordance with HIPAA and holds all employee information confidential.
- Make efforts to recognize employees, educate and trains employees, and promotes employee growth in an effort to increase employee retention and satisfaction.
Annual Salary Range $89,000-$104,000 based on years of experience
Full Time, High Earned Time Accrual Rate
** Sign on bonus paid out in accordance to IHC policies, not available to current Integritus Healthcare employee
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, document, and evaluate nursing department education programs, including employee orientation, mandated in-service training, and annual competency testing. Coach staff, promote workplace safety and professional development, support career ladder programs, and ensure training and records meet regulatory requirements.
Requirements
A current, valid Massachusetts Registered Nurse license and current CPR certification are required. The role also requires coordinating staff education and competency assessments, maintaining confidentiality, and following facility policies, OSHA standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
