Job Details: Job Location: Straka (VC) - Oklahoma City, OK, Education Level: Graduate Degree, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day, Department: Dental Position: Dentist – Pediatric Dentistry Employee Category: Exempt Reporting Relationship: Dental Director Character Qualities: Compassion- Investing whatever is necessary to heal the hurts of others.

Joyfulness – Maintaining a good attitude, even when faced with unpleasant conditions. Patience – accepting others at different levels of maturity. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the Dental Director.

Helps implement all the dental activities and provides quality primary dental care to patients of Variety Care Dental Clinics. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides dental care for pediatric patients of the dental clinic by diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, malformation of teeth and gums.

Promotes preventive dentistry. Performs screenings or other services at health fairs, school based programs or in other outreach settings as directed by the Dental Director.

Provides referrals for patients who have dental problems outside the scope of services available at Variety Care to qualified specialists as necessary. Maintains accurate and complete charts and completes charts in accordance with Variety Care policies and procedures.

Assumes personal responsibility for keeping current in professional literature, skills and techniques. Participates in Peer Review, both as a reviewer and participant, as directed by Dental Director. Participates in team-based care and supports the dental team as care is provided.

Provide leadership and work with all staff to achieve the goals of the “Quintuple Aim” of healthcare reform—to improve the experience of care, improve health outcomes, and decrease healthcare costs. Embodies the strength of personal character.

Places value on being an open and honest communicator who displays high moral and ethical conduct, integrity, adaptability, and sound judgment. Must be a leader in the department and community. Result-oriented problem solver who is responsible and accountable. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: D.D.S. from an approved College of Dentistry. Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Oklahoma. Desire to care for the financially disadvantaged. Unrestricted DEA/OBNDD Licenses.

Ability to work in a multi-faceted, fast past environment Preferred Requirements, Special Skills or Knowledge: Previous practice experience. Experience in preventive dentistry programs. Essential Functions: Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Able to assist patients in to and out of dental chair when asked or directed. Able to walk, bend, lift, and remain on feet for extended periods of time.

Key Responsibilities

Provides quality primary dental care to pediatric patients, including diagnosing and treating dental diseases and injuries. Participates in community outreach programs and collaborates with the dental team to support patient-centered medical home goals.

Requirements

Requires a D.D.S. degree from an approved College of Dentistry and an unrestricted license to practice in Oklahoma. Must hold active DEA and OBNDD licenses and demonstrate a commitment to caring for the financially disadvantaged.
