The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Anesthesiology, is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our growing, nationally recognized cardiovascular team. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, tertiary care environment alongside a collaborative team of anesthesiologists, surgeons, intensivists, residents, fellows, and CRNAs dedicated to exceptional patient care, education, and innovation.

The successful candidate will provide anesthesia care for a broad spectrum of adult cardiac surgical procedures and advanced cardiovascular interventions while contributing to the department's clinical, educational, and academic missions.

Position Highlights

Join a premier academic cardiovascular program offering the full continuum of cardiac surgical and interventional care

Clinical practice includes adult cardiac anesthesia, structural heart procedures, electrophysiology, mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, ventricular assist devices (LVADs), heart transplantation, and lung transplantation

Opportunity to utilize advanced perioperative echocardiography in a high-acuity tertiary and quaternary care setting

Academic appointment available with opportunities for teaching, mentorship, research, and leadership development

Shared cardiac call schedule designed to support collaboration and physician well-being

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency
• Completion of a Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship
• ABA-certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri

Certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (or eligibility to obtain certification) preferred
