Animal Care Clinic in Bemidji, MN is looking to adding another associate veterinarian to our team! We have been providing high-quality companion animal services to Bemidji and the surrounding area since 1997. We are open to DVMs of all experience levels as our practice is large and has lots of room for growth. For any new graduates this would be a great opportunity for mentorship, especially those interested in surgery, fracture repair, and TPLO.

About the area: Bemidji is a historically charming and beautiful city that offers a relaxed, small-town atmosphere with the amenities of the big city. It has an abundance of water ways and is nestled in the Minnesota Northwoods. Throughout town there are sculptures and outdoor art inspired by the one-of-a-kind area.

Because of its location right along Lake Bemidji and the Mississippi River, you can enjoy fishing, hiking, biking, and any other outdoor activities throughout all seasons.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.

Key Responsibilities

The veterinarian will examine, diagnose, and treat companion animals while performing surgical procedures and interpreting diagnostic tests. They are also responsible for advising pet owners on preventative care and maintaining accurate medical records in compliance with veterinary standards.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited institution and possess appropriate state licensure. Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle physical tasks related to animal care are required.
