Job Summary

AvaMed Inc is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for a contract opportunity at a healthcare facility located in Oroville, California.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing occupational therapy services to improve patients' independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.

We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

This position offers $80.00 per hour, 1099 independent contractor status, and weekly pay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patients' physical, cognitive, and functional abilities.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, clinical findings, and established rehabilitation goals.

Provide therapeutic interventions to improve patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).

Evaluate and address limitations in mobility, coordination, strength, fine motor skills, and functional independence.

Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to improve patient safety and independence.

Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home exercise programs, and adaptive strategies.

Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, Physical Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

  • Comply with applicable state and federal regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.
  • Perform additional duties within the scope of practice of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid California Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ability to complete required facility credentialing and onboarding requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working in a healthcare facility, rehabilitation center, skilled nursing facility, or similar clinical environment.

  • Experience treating patients with physical, neurological, or functional impairments.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation systems.
  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to manage an assigned patient caseload.
