Responsible for providing basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients and residents. Implements business practices in order to uphold hospital mission and values.

Responsibilities

• A day in the life of a Registered Dietitian at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
• Directs dietary care of patients with basic nutrition needs including screening, assessment and care planning to ensure patient dietary needs and patient satisfaction levels are met.
• Educates medical staff and counsels` patients and their families on proper nutritional care.

Manages and promotes food and nutrition programs according to Hackensack Meridian Health standards and policies.

Collaborates and communicates with culinary and clinical departments on established processes, nutrition care, special diets and menu requests.

Stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications and standards of practice.

Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Hackensack Meridian Health policies and procedures (e. g. HIPAA/Privacy Act, quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).

• Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Bachelors degree.
• Entry level experience.
• PC skills and its applicable applications.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred

Acute care clinical or related experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within 60 days of entering position.

• Minimum rate of $69,534.40 Annually

Geographic Location: Cost of living and market rates for the specific location. Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization.

Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate.

Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
