Overview
Weekend Inpatient Psychiatrist
Location: Pacific Grove Hospital, 5900 Brockton Ave, Riverside, CA 92506
We are currently seeking to add an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team!
About the role:
This role is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.
Pacific Grove Hospital is a 68-bed acute psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital. The one-story building is situated on 4.5 acres in the heart of Riverside, California. Our private hospital campus treats voluntary patients on three units. All of our units are self-contained with private courtyards, laundry facilities, patient lounges, and semi-private rooms.
Caseload: 1.5 units; 34 beds
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, flexible schedule during business hours (2 weekends per month; or more if requested)
On Call Schedule: Friday 5pm to Monday 7am
Compensation: 1099 Contractor; Per eval and per follow up
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility
Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures
Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations
Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders
Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications
Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner
Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) REQUIRED
One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred
Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate
Licenses/Certifications
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry
Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
