Job Description

  • Getwell Recovery – Louisville, KY
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour

Position Overview

Getwell Recovery is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our behavioral health and recovery team in Louisville, Kentucky. The Counselor will provide individualized and group counseling services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use and behavioral health concerns.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, dependable, and committed to helping clients achieve and maintain long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and/or family counseling sessions based on client needs and program requirements.
  • Complete client assessments and assist with developing individualized treatment and recovery plans.
  • Provide ongoing support, education, and encouragement throughout the recovery process.
  • Monitor client progress and document services, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Facilitate recovery-focused groups and educational sessions.

Identify changes in client behavior, emotional status, or treatment needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical team.

Collaborate with case managers, medical providers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

  • Participate in treatment planning, case reviews, staff meetings, and other required clinical activities.
  • Assist clients with developing coping skills, relapse-prevention strategies, and healthy recovery habits.
  • Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and a safe, respectful, and supportive treatment environment.

Follow all applicable HIPAA, confidentiality, safety, and behavioral health regulations and organizational policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred.

  • Appropriate counseling credential or certification preferred, depending on applicable Kentucky requirements.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, behavioral health concerns, or mental health challenges preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, nonjudgmental, and client-centered approach.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Must be dependable and able to work the required 5:00 AM–12:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule.
