Concentra Onsite Employee Health / Occupational Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant 

Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends

Location: DeSoto, KS

We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at our client's onsite Employee Health / Occupational Medicine practice.  The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as an NP/PA within an urgent care, emergency medicine, and/or family medicine setting.  Experience within an occupational medicine setting is a plus.  Scope of practice includes treating work-related injuries and managing follow-up care, coordinating wellness and safety initiatives, minor first aid, employment physicals and screenings, and maintaining OSHA compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Spends 100% of time in the onsite clinic providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience.

* Ensures day-to-day execution of Concentra's clinical model collaborating with members of the healthcare team to drive optimal clinical outcomes.

* Accountable for monitoring, understanding, and effecting key onsite clinic metrics that relate to quality outcomes.
* Advanced Primary Care - chronic condition management, gaps in care, preventive health and age-appropriate screenings, vaccinations, SDOH, wellness initiatives, clinic utilization and patient satisfaction.
* Occupational Medicine - timely return to work measures after an injury on the job, case duration, lost time, work duty status, reduction in work-related illnesses and improved functional capacity. 

* Provides direct patient care through compilation of the medical history, conduction of the physical exam, diagnosis, and the development of appropriate treatment plans.

* Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.

* Maintains timely, accurate and detailed patient records and paperwork.

* Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.

* Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.

* Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.

* Listens to and understands internal and external client needs.

* Assists in the development, implementation and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of clinical care.

* Assists in the development and presentation of education and instructional programs.

* Provides excellent and compassionate customer service to all patients, clients and peers while incorporating Orange Book values.

Education/Credentials

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree

Major: Nursing or related health field

Degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Education Details

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience

* Master’s degree in nursing or related health field from an accredited college or university

* Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications and/or Licenses

* Current licensed nurse practitioner in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice

* Must maintain work state nurse practitioner licensure throughout the course of employment

Job-Related Experience

Customarily has at least the following experience

3 years

* Customarily has at least three years of demonstrated experience in occupational medicine, urgent care or an emergency setting
